5K a year The director of Auxiliary Services will provide day-to-day oversight of Auxiliary Services which includes:
1) Conferences & Events, 2) Summer Programs, 3) Dyer Hotel, 4) Campus Store & Central Office Supply, and 5) Mail Services.
Serves as a member of the Finance and Operations Leadership Team.
As time permits, this position will also coordinate and assist with special projects within the Physical Plant and other area reporting to the VP for Business and Finance.
Essential Functions:
Provides hands on direction and work to ensure all required department work is completed to meet guest and stakeholder needs.
This includes:
Ensures Event Management, Campus Store operations, Central Office Supply, and Mail Services support departmental objectives and College priorities.
Ensures staffing levels align with program / event agreements and fills in where necessary.
Works evening and weekend hours and/or work additional hours or a modified work schedule to meet contractual and service level agreements.
Serves as a member of the Finance and Operations Leadership Team.
Maintains budget authority and responsible oversight of fiscal operations under his/her purview.
Manages compliance and risk management issues related to campus events, cultivates client relationships with summer conference groups, and oversees and manages conference and event contract negotiations.
Serves as the lead contact for summer for Summer Programs and manages contract negotiation and compliance.
Oversees the content of the department webpages along with the effective leveraging of event scheduling/space management software and Mail Services package tracking software.
Pursues new opportunities and grows fiscal benefit of Events, Summer Programs and Campus Store to Ferrum College.
Responsible for monitoring OSHA and other safety procedures on job sites including the enforcement of any necessary corrective action on the part of the contractor.
Serves on the Safety Committee.
Other related duties as assigned by the VP of Finance and Chief Operating Officer.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of progressively responsible experience in coordination of activities and event, customer service and support, supervising and deploying staff, and day-to-day problem solving.
Experience with inventory management systems and inventory control.
Ability to interpret design / construction documents and effectively administer contracts.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
Ability to effectively oversee, direct, coach, lead, and manage staff with varying schedules and position levels.
Preferred
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in management, leadership, hospitality, architecture, engineering, building constructions or equivalent combination of training and experience in construction management.
Prior experience in hospitality and retail.
Prior experience in auxiliary services.
